Steam Knight's Charge by Whisp-of-Blue Steam Knight's Charge by Whisp-of-Blue
I've been trying to do something else besides steampunk for a while. I've drawn fantasy, I've tried going back into techno and I've been attempting to think of some new story/comic ideas... but try as I might I think I have to get it out of my system.

This newer Steam Knight is similar in goggles, weapons, and armor. The main difference is the soldier helmet, gas-mask, and military uniform under the armor. This armor would probably be worn by Steam Queen Victoria's knights.

It's been a while since I've drawn anything that I like, let me know what you think.

You definitely have something good here, the gas mask added a few new layers of meaning to the knight. What you have here is easily a more sinister knight than your last one, and the gas mask implies that he would be wading through some pretty stinky places (such as a sewer or bog).

For your next peice, try try think of other helmets (in sci-fi, fantasy, and modern day) and think about how it would change the meaning of your peice.

My only technical crit is that I think his left hand covering his leg may be throwing off your perspecitve some. Other than that, awesome stuff :D

I figured that the gas mask would help him breathe in most any situation. Plane drops, underwater, ect.

Plus I figured it would have been around the time of World War Two, but with different progression and all.

I've definently been looking at other helmets lately. It'll be fun to try it out. The arms and the sheild and hand get a little lost. I'll fix it up.

Thanx mang.

I like the texture on the knight, and the background is really interesting!! I also like how you can still see a facial expression, even though he is masked (I'm getting a sort of 'Oho! I found you, now I'm gonna GETCHA!!' out of it).

In all of your steampunk art, something I like is that you tend to add in elements that wouldn't be typically thought of as belonging to 'steampunk', namely, some fantasy or medieval things (like swords, armor, a lot of the helmets you draw). It makes it not just cut-and-paste steampunk, but something original!

Steampunk is awesome, and this is a sterling example, Fade effects are done well for the steam, and everything looks pretty fluid, Nice work!
